In this Employee of the Quarter spotlight, we caught up with one standout team member whose infectious positivity, collaborative spirit, and can-do attitude make a lasting impression across departments. It might just explain why she's been voted as Employee of the Quarter twice within the last two years.

How did it feel to be recognized as Employee of the Quarter, and what does that recognition mean to you personally?

I honestly can’t believe that I am the recipient again, there were SO many amazing Plant 1 nominees who deserved this award.  Receiving this honor makes my heart happy and feels like I am making a difference to my coworkers, and the company.

Can you share a moment or project at KION NA that you look back on with pride?

I think one of my favorite projects at the company has been when I joined Lori Stivers, Senior Coordinator of Employee Engagment, to get employees excited about the Pulse Survey last year.  She was the mastermind behind our costumes/themes, but it was a blast to see people’s smiles when they saw us come through each location, whether we were dressed as sumo wrestlers or donuts or riding on dinosaurs!  KNA’s participation rate went up plus we had fun with our fellow employees!

What qualities do you admire in your teammates, and how do you try to embody those yourself?

What is cool about my role is that since I have three bosses, whose teams encompass a variety of departments, I get to work with so many different people and personalities.  When I see something that is working for one person or group, I try and incorporate that quality into other areas of my job.

Which of our KION values shows up most in your work—and how do you live it out? 

I would say Collaboration.  As much as I try to complete projects alone, because I am worried about bothering other people, I wouldn’t be where I am without the help of my team.  Plus, I am always eager and happy to help others in an effort to make their jobs easier.  Teamwork really does make the dream work!

What keeps you energized, even on challenging days? 

It is on the challenging days that I often find myself working harder. If I can get through the tough days with a smile on my face, then the “normal/every days” should be easier.  When I was being trained for my role, I was told that I needed to be a Chaos Coordinator/Adrenaline Junkie, and I definitely get excited when I push through a tough project or day.

As you look ahead, what’s something you’re really looking forward to—either professionally or personally? 

I am looking forward to continuing to grow my product knowledge and learn about as many facets of this company as possible.  Hopefully this will help me grow both personally and professionally!
